Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which The Badminton and Racquet Club of Toronto (Club) collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users (each, a "User") of the website ("Site"). This privacy policy applies to the Site and all products and services offered by The Badminton and Racquet Club of Toronto.

Personal identification information

We may collect personal identification information from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users visit our site, subscribe to the newsletter, respond to a survey, fill out a form, and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available on our Site. Users may be asked for, as appropriate, name, email address, mailing address, phone number. Users may, however, visit our Site anonymously. We will collect personal identification information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to supply personally identification information, except that it may prevent them from engaging in certain Site related activities.

The Badminton and Racquet Club of Toronto may collect and use Users personal information for the following purposes:

To send Users information they agreed to receive about topics we think will be of interest to them.

We adopt appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information, username, password, transaction information and data stored on our Site.

Our Site is in compliance with PCI vulnerability standards in order to create as secure of an environment as possible for Users.

Sharing your personal information

We do not sell, trade, or rent Users personal identification information to others. We may share generic aggregated demographic information not linked to any personal identification information regarding visitors and users with our business partners, trusted affiliates and advertisers for the purposes outlined above. We may use third party service providers to help us operate our business and the Site or administer activities on our behalf, such as sending out newsletters or surveys. Third-Party Social Media

The use of social media serves as an extension of its presence on the Web. Social media account(s) are public and are not hosted on The Badminton and Racquet Club of Toronto servers. Users who choose to interact with the Club via social media should read the terms of service and privacy policies of these third-party service providers and those of any applications used to access them.

Privacy for our Members & Associates

The Badminton and Racquet Club of Toronto is committed to protecting the privacy of its Members and Associates. The personal information collected through applications, surveys, and other forms of questionnaires shall be used strictly for internal use and for Club purposes only, and shall not be divulged to non-members of the Club, nor be made available to a third party for any purposes whatsoever. The Club does not sell, lease, rent, or barter its Membership list.

The Badminton and Racquet Club of Toronto is responsible and accountable for the personal information under its control. A Privacy Officer has been appointed to ensure that the Club observes relevant laws in this regard, and to oversee and answer questions regarding the Club’s practices under the Act.

Privacy for our Employees

The Club is committed to protecting the personal information of its Employees, and has long-standing security measures to preserve the confidentiality of its Employees' personal information.

What is Personal Information?
"Personal information" means any information about an identifiable individual, whether it was collected before or after this Policy was first published. Personal information includes but is not limited to the individual's name, address, age, gender, identification numbers, income, employment, payment records, personal references, health records and job performance (including productivity, date, place and time work performed, relationships with co-workers, reputation with co-workers, opinions expressed by co-workers, promotion prospects, disciplinary measures and the like). Personal information may also include marital status, immigration status, court/tribunal/inquiry proceedings, qualification and skills, student records, career history, insurance policies, as well as professional memberships.

With respect to any specific individual, the Club may or may not have personal information within these enumerated categories.

Purposes for Collection of Employee Personal Information:
Employee personal information collected by the Club will be used for the following purposes:
• Payroll/Benefit Plans
• The communication of Club business and events
• Administration of Employee files for the purposes of the employment relationship
• The creation of an Employee database
• Emergency contacts and Human resources personal information

The Club's Human Resources department engages in many activities which require the collection of personal information from Employees which may entail, but is not limited to, payroll administration, general personnel record keeping, recruitment, selection and vacancy monitoring, Staff appraisal, Staff development and training, salary and benefit administration and job evaluation, time and attendance (absence control), leave of absence and vacation requests, staffing and deployment, performance monitoring, data capture and job recording, health and safety administration, Employee information systems, succession and contingency planning and pension administration.

Changes to this privacy policy

The Badminton and Racquet Club of Toronto has the discretion to update this privacy policy at any time. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the bottom of this page. We encourage Users to frequently check this page for any changes to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the personal information we collect. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review this privacy policy periodically and become aware of modifications.

Your acceptance of these terms

By using this Site, you signify your acceptance of this policy. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use our Site. Your continued use of the Site following the posting of changes to this policy will be deemed your acceptance of those changes.
